HEALTH BENEFITS
There are three general advantages of consuming fresh-roasted coffee, superior flavour, enhanced aroma and health benefits. Although the two first ones are subjective, the last one is objective, real and very interesting. It is a true superfood because it is loaded with nutrients and antioxidants, which benefit our overall health by boosting both the metabolism and the immune system.

NUTRIENTS
Coffee isn’t just about flavour and energy, it also has a variety of health benefits that make it a great addition to many diets. Vitamins, minerals and antioxidants in fresh-roasted coffee provide important health benefits, the vitamin riboflavin is important component for your cell’s healthy growth and development, it helps maintain your blood and assists your body process amino acids into usable forms. Fresh-roasted coffee is also an excellent source of pantothenic acid or vitamin B5, niacin or vitamin B3, thiamine, potassium, magnesium and caffeine.
The coffee fruit in fact has a higher level of antioxidants than blueberries or pomegranates, both of those fruits being known for their high antioxidant value. Antioxidants are considered important because they help neutralize the negative effects of free radicals of aging in our bodies. Once roasted, the coffee bean becomes perishable and, like any perishable food item, it begins to lose its nutritional value as time passes, the older the coffee, the lower the nutritional composition it will have.

LOWER RISK
OF
CANCER
Fresh-roasted coffee is one of the best known sources of antioxidants in most diets. The dark, rich brown color of coffee is the result of these antioxidants, which can help fight free radicals that cause cellular damage and have been linked to cancer. As a result, people who consume coffee regularly are at a lower risk of multiple types of cancer, including colorectal, oral, prostate and liver cancer.
Fresh-roasted coffee is an excellent source of caffeine, which offers some impressive brain benefits. Caffeine has been linked to a lower risk of Alzheimer’s disease, dementia and cognitive impairment. Regularly consuming caffeine may reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s disease in particular. Coffee has also been connected to a lower risk of Parkinson’s disease, which is caused by the death of certain brain neurones.

LIVER
HEALTH
Critical for your health, your liver helps filter your blood, store energy and produce important liquids for your digestive system, coffee can actually help keep your liver in good shape. Drinking dark roast coffee every day can help reduce your risk of liver cirrhosis or the scarring of the liver. Regularly drinking coffee can also reduce your risk of liver cancer by up to 40 percent, which is quite considerable.
Drinking coffee is associated with a lower risk of heart & arterial disease and dangerous heart rhythms and may be associated with living longer, according to three studies.
Peter M. Kistler, MD, used data from the UK BioBank, a large-scale prospective database with health information from over half a million people who were followed for at least 10 years. He looked at varying levels of coffee consumption ranging from up to a cup to more than six cups a day and the relationship with arrhythmias, cardiovascular disease, including coronary artery disease, heart failure and stroke, and total and heart-related deaths.

LOWER RISK
TYPE-2
DIABETES
Coffee contains many natural chemicals that have different effects on the body, including caffeine and polyphenols.
Polyphenols are molecules with antioxidant properties believed to help prevent a wide range of diseases, including type-2 diabetes, heart disease, and cancers. Various findings confirm conclusions of previous studies that showed that higher coffee consumption was associated with lower type-2 diabetes risk but, most importantly, they provide new evidence that changes in increasing coffee consumption habit can affect type-2 diabetes risk in a relatively short period of time.
Various studies support that recently roasted coffee consumption is clearly associated with a reduced risk of AD, overall the results show a protective effect of coffee consumption. A daily intake of 3-5 cups of coffee in middle age may lower the risk of the dementia and AD by about 65%. A further meta-analysis suggested that the summary risk ratio reached 0.80-0.83 for Alzheimer’s disease after adjustment for smoking and hypertension. A 2017 review concluded that reports indicate that moderate coffee consumption may in fact lower the risk for common neurodegenerative conditions including AD.

REDUCED RISK

REDUCED RISK
PARKINSON'S
DISEASE
For years, drinking coffee has been associated with reduced risk of developing Parkinson's disease (PD). However, coffee is more than a caffeine delivery system, it has more than 1,000 different compounds, including organic acids, sugars, amino acids and fatty acids. A fatty acid called Eicosanoyl-5-hydroxytryptamide (EHT) has in recent research shown to provide insights into the biochemical protective mechanisms. Mice treated with EHT and caffeine together had less alpha-synuclein clumping in the brain, maintained better neuron integrity and function, had less brain inflammation and displayed less movement symptoms.
For years, scientists have known that coffee stimulates the release of the neurotransmitter dopamine. Dopamine produces the euphoria and pleasant feelings that people often associate with their first cup of coffee in the morning. This action by coffee has always been an adequate explanation for why caffeine is the most widely consumed psychoactive substance in the world. Coffee makes us feel so good because it is able to tap into virtually every reward system our brain has evolved. Hidden within that hot elixir is a chemical that takes over your brain making it function more efficiently.

CREATIVITY
All of us have experienced the energy boost coffee provides, it jumpstarts your brain so you overcome the first hurdle to unlocking your creativity.
Caffeine is a central nervous system (CNS) stimulant of the methylxanthine class. There are several known mechanisms of action to explain the effects of caffeine. The most prominent is that it reversibly blocks the action of adenosine on its receptor and consequently prevents the onset of drowsiness induced by adenosine. Caffeine also stimulates certain portions of the autonomic nervous system.
Adenosine is a neurotransmitter that makes us feel sleepy by binding to its receptors. When caffeine binds to these receptors instead, it tricks the brain into thinking we’re not tired. This is why caffeine is often used as a pick-me-up.
Caffeine also increases activity of other neurotransmitters like dopamine and norepinephrine. These neurotransmitters are associated with pleasure, alertness, and focus. That’s why we feel more awake and alert after drinking coffee.
Studies have shown that caffeine improves cognitive functions including mental performance, alertness and heightens our overall concentration levels. Caffeine is a stimulant, and when consumed, it blocks neurotransmitters in the brain that us feel tired and can even benefit those who suffer from ADHD, a common neurological disorder that impacts an individual’s ability to focus and because it is an impetus on the central nervous system, the production of dopamine increases, a chemical generally low in those who suffer from ADHD. Dopamine, known as the “feel good” neurotransmitter, is a contributing factor to heightened moods, proper decision making and evidently increased concentration levels and focus.

DIGESTION
Coffee consumption not only stimulates digestion and helps colon motility, it can also change the gut microbiota, increasing the number of “good bacteria” from our stomach. It can also protect against liver disease and reduce the risk of gallstones as it is associated with gastric, biliary, and pancreatic secretions, which are all crucial for the digestion of food. By stimulating the production of gastrin, hydrochloric acid, and cholecystokinin, coffee helps our organism properly digest a large variety of foods. It also stimulates colon motility and can thus reduce the risk of chronic constipation and as it increases the numbers of Bifidobacteria it also help break down food, absorb nutrients and fight off pathogenic micro-organisms. There is also mounting evidence that daily roasted coffee may also help protect against more serious diseases, such as hepatocellular carcinoma.
And if as if all these wonderful health benefits were not enough daily roasted coffee also helps us with weight loss as it contains less than 5 calories/serving, but not just because of that, it also contains nutrients such as niacin, potassium, magnesium and antioxidants that improve digestive health, support muscle function and lead to better heart health. It also contains caffeine, which boosts metabolism, improves energy and promotes weight loss while it tends to decrease feelings of hunger because it reduces the levels of ghrelin, the hormone that makes you feel hungry, and stimulates the satiety hormone peptide YY (PYY) which means you will feel satiated and less hungry.
